Democratic Societies from the earliest times have expected their government
to protect the weak against the strong. No era of good feeling can justify
discharging police force or giving up the ideal of public control over
concentrated private wealth. On the other hand it is obvious that a spirit of
self- denial and moderation on the part of those who tell economic power will
greatly soften and demand for absolute equality. Men are interested in freedom
and security than in an equal distribution of wealth. The extent to which
government must interfere with business, therefore, is not exactly measured by
the extent to which economic power is concentrated into a few hands. The
required degree of government interference depends mainly on whether economic
power are used and on the neccessity of keeping economic factors in a toterable
state of balance.
Title - IMPORTANCE OF DEMO-CRATIC GOVERNMNT
Democratic government are generally expected to save the weak people from the strong ones. People these days becoming interested in ensuing themselves with freedom and security. For this equal distribution of wealth bears no meaning. Accumulation of wealth on a few influential people cannot assure everyone with a better life economically. MY VILLAGE Out lines:- (Name and
location-Popula-tion and occupation- different institution-festival observed-
relationship among people- How you would like to serve your village).
India is primarily a land of villages. Gandhiji always used to say that if anyone wants to know India, he must go to the village. Once a poet said “God made the village but man made the town.” This means in village God filled in all the beauties of nature like green trees, flowers, mountains and murmuring fountains and lush green fields. The name of my village is Suando in the Satyabadi block of the district of Puri. It stands on the east of Satyasbadi on the bank of river the Bhargabi. It is the birth place of Utkalmani Pandit Gopanbandhu Das, the founder of Odia daily news paper ‘The SAMAJ.’ The village has above one hundred families. It is quite big with more than one thousand people living here. The villagers are mostly farmers, daily labourers and businessmen. Some people are having government and private jobs. Some people are farming coconuts and bettle nuts. The village is inhabited by the various Hindu sub castes. Most of the dwelling are mud houses with thatched roofs. There are only a few buildings. There is a upper primary school, a post office, and a primary health centre running smoothly. A social club “Utkalmani Gopabandhu Mission” takes up various social activities. There is also a community hall at the end the village. People use it for meeting and marriage ceremony purposes etc. My village is great in observance of some traditional festivals. Dola yatra or Holi is the major festival which unite the villagers to spread colours of joy. Other festivals lie Shivaratri, Mahavishubha Sankranti are celebrated in pump and splender. The entire village people observe the birthday of Pandit Gopabandhu Das. By the effort of LokSevak Mandal and daily ‘The Samaj’ ‘The Gopabandhu Jyoti Yatra’ starts from here every year. The villagers are united when it comes for doing something noble. My village people live a quiet and simple life. There is co-operation and fellow feeling among them. They share each other’s’ pleasures and pains. The youth of the village are trying their best to bring about the all-round development our village. They are inspired by the ideals of Utkalmani and serve for people of outside in the time of natural calamities. So all the villagers are bounded in the thread of unity and love. My village is my second mother next to my own mother. I always live a in peaceful atmosphere and enjoy a peaceful life. I am very proud of that I belong to such a village. Due to cleanly-ness my village has been identified as ‘an ideal village’ in Puri district. I often go to my village during holidays and enjoy being there with my relatives.
